Screens & Supports (Reactor Internals)

Averinox provides specific “‘internals”, namely screens & supports and associated components (including grids in a some specific situations) for reactors or pressure vessels, especially in petrochemical (chemical) industry based on mechanical design, or for a number of applications based on process design or process licensor’s specification. The parts we supply are mostly composed of our product groups  Woven Wire Mesh, Welded Mesh, Sintered Wire Mesh and Perforated Media.

Screens & Support are used for our activities: General Filtration and Filtration & Separation Supports.  We supply also internals for liquid/liquid separation or gas/liquid separation, such as mist eliminators and coaleshers / demisters based on process design. Materials used for screens and supports are for example: stainless steel grades (AISI 304, 316, 321, 347, etc.), Monel™, Inconel ™, Incoloy ™,  Hastelloy ™ and Duplex ™, aluminised stainless steel types and sometimes industrial synthetics, like Polyester, PE, PP, PPS Rayton™ en Saran™. See also Stainless Steel Types.  Stainless steel wire mesh can be equipped after the weaving proces with an aluminised layer according licensors specification.

Basic materials such as wire, plate and woven mesh are kept in relevant stock, that can be delivered quickly in case of shut-downs or may be assembled into fabrics according to your specifications (wire) or perforated plate on your specification. Please contact us for a personal advice.

For fixed bed reactor vessels or other pressure vessels we supply filter media delivered on the basis of mechanical design. These are constructed from our product groups Woven Wire Mesh and Perforated Media. Below are some examples of woven mesh used as supports in fixed bed reactors. Please contact us for an appropriate advice.

Based on the design process we can also the supply the required supports supply. Below are some examples of separation and / or support media including support grids (beams) based on our product Woven Wire Mesh and Welded Wire Mesh.

In fixed bed reactors are also used so-called hold-down screens, we can often also supply the necessary supports. Above you can find a detailled example of a hold-down Woven Mesh screen that can be delivered to the diameter of the vessel or reactor. The screen can be also delivered in segments, in order to move it thru the manhole whereupon it can be mounted easily (with overlap). Below you will also find an example of a catalyst basket that can be used  to increase the contact surface in a (fixed) catalyst bed. Spirofil–Averinox also provides special reinforcement mesh (flex steel or floor steel) for refractory lining applications in industrial furnaces and anti–wear applications in cyclones. This so called hexagonal mesh or hexmesh will be mounted into the furnace of vessel as flat panels or rolled segments. Subsequently, the reinforcement is filled with a refractory or wear-resistant mass.
