Woven mesh
Weave and aperture to specification.
Woven wire cloth for screening, filtration and support layers. Weave, aperture and alloy are selected for the process.
Woven wire mesh was Averinox's first product and remains a core part of the range. Metal wires are interlaced to form a defined geometry. Plain weave provides open screening surfaces, twill accommodates heavier wires, and Dutch weaves combine fine retention below 100 microns with mechanical strength.
We select cloth for the process medium, such as slurry, gas, polymer or powder. The weave affects flow, retention and stiffness. Stock availability is confirmed with your enquiry; cloth can also be woven to specification, including licensor requirements for reactor and refinery service.
Crimped mesh, including flat top, double crimped and corrugated constructions, provides a rigid surface for vibrating screens, grids, trays and architectural panels. Alloy selection depends on the operating environment. We advise on materials including AISI 304 and Hastelloy™.
Applications
- Sieving and classifying powders and granulates
- Liquid and gas filtration, from coarse strainers to fine Dutch weaves
- Support and protection layers for finer media and membranes
- Vibrating screens and quarry/mining decks (crimped mesh)
- Catalyst handling and refinery service to licensor specification
- Architectural and decorative surfaces (IndustryMeetsDesign®)

Materials & variants
Stainless steel 304/304L and 316/316L are the workhorses; 316Ti and 321 cover the sensitisation temperature range. For brine, chlorides, acids or extreme heat Inconel™, Incoloy™, Monel™, Hastelloy™ and Duplex are woven and fabricated to order. Non-ferrous wires (brass, copper, aluminium) are available for shielding and architectural work.

Frequently asked questions
Which weave do I need for a given micron rating?
As a rule of thumb: square plain weave down to ~25 µm, plain Dutch for strong cloth with fine retention, twill Dutch for the finest ratings. Send us the medium, load and cleaning method and we advise the exact weave and alloy.
Can you supply cut-to-size parts instead of rolls?
Yes. We supply discs, rings, rectangles and formed parts cut to size, edged and, where required, welded or framed. Send the drawing or dimensions so we can assess the work and delivery options.
Do you weave to licensor specifications?
Yes. Cloth for reactor internals and refinery equipment is regularly supplied against licensor specs, with material certificates and full traceability.
What mesh count do I need for 50 micron?
Mesh count alone does not define retention: aperture follows from count and wire diameter together, so several count/wire combinations reach 50 µm. In square weave that is a fine cloth; where strength or absolute retention matters, a plain Dutch weave at the same rating is usually the better buy. Send medium and flow and we specify both options.
Which alloy for continuous service at 600 °C?
Plain 304 runs to ~800 °C in clean, dry air, but between roughly 425 and 815 °C sensitisation becomes the real limit under load and condensate. 321 and 316Ti are made for that window; for cyclic heat or reducing atmospheres we move to Inconel™ or Incoloy™. State the atmosphere in your RFQ: it decides more than the temperature does.
Do you deliver from stock, and how fast can cut parts ship?
Standard weaves in 304/316L may be supplied from stock and cut, edged or formed to size. We confirm stock and delivery options with your enquiry. Special alloys are woven to order. Include any shutdown date and mark urgent requirements so we can assess the schedule after technical and capacity review.
