Since 2001, Averinox has followed developments in materials and production technology to find suitable, economical solutions for customers. Our current research themes are listed below.
R-01
Electrolysers use finely specified stainless and nickel-alloy mesh. Our research explores woven and knitted constructions for stacks, and sintered filtration for hydrogen storage and fuel-cell systems.
R-02
Multi-layer sintered laminates combine coarse and fine pore structures to capture dirt while maintaining flow. We study these media and self-cleaning element designs to extend operating time between cleaning stops.
R-03
Surface treatments include electropolishing for smooth pharma and food surfaces, nano-coatings for corrosion and microbial resistance, and duplex zinc-polymer systems for coastal and desert atmospheres. The choice of finish affects service life.
R-04
As a partner in the European TORWASH project with ECN, now part of TNO, Averinox contributed filtration and dewatering knowledge to a process that converts wet biomass and sludge into energy. The project applied this expertise to a new energy application.
R-05
Stainless mesh is recyclable, and our media are designed for cleaning and reuse. Filtration also helps address requirements for emissions, discharges and substances of very high concern such as PFAS.
R-06
Digital weaving and automated production can shorten custom lead times. Sensors and predictive maintenance on belts and presses help plan interventions before failure. We use service data in product development.
