Metal mesh for architecture and interiors

IndustryMeetsDesign® supplies woven, perforated and knitted metal for architectural applications. Architects, interior designers and municipalities use it for façades, ceilings, partitions and public spaces. We match tolerances and finishes to the design.

Interiors

Room dividers let light through and preserve sightlines. Other applications include acoustic ceiling rafts, stair infill and balustrades to the applicable building requirements. Finishes include stainless steel, brass tones and RAL powder coating.

Façades & sun shading

Woven mesh is used for façades, sun shading and parking-garage cladding. We calculate the open area and wind loads and specify tensioned or framed panels. The mesh provides shading while allowing airflow.

Public space & municipalities

Applications include parks, stations and schools, as well as acoustic and safety screens. We consider safety, vandal resistance, fire class and maintenance. Bare metal mesh is non-combustible and provides visibility through the screen; service life depends on the material and finish.

Furniture & retail

Bead-chain walls, cable-mesh drapery, shopfronts and lighting, as well as furniture in small series. We apply the same metalworking knowledge used for reactor internals to the required texture and finish.

3D material samples

Drag the model to rotate and inspect the material structure.

Woven

Open and dense weaves for screens and drapery.

Perforated

Hole patterns and gradients can form decorative designs and images.

Knitted

Resilient, three-dimensional mesh that follows curves, for drapery and spatial textures.

What architects ask us to specify

  • Open area & see-through percentage per viewing angle
  • Light, shade and airflow behaviour
  • Acoustic damping (with backing constructions)
  • Fire class: bare metal is non-combustible (A1)
  • Finishes: electropolish, powder-coat RAL, anodising, print
  • Alloys & patinas: stainless, brass, copper, aluminium
  • Maintenance interval and lifespan outdoors
  • Recyclability: mono-material metal
Which mesh gives a façade around 40% see-through?

See-through depends on open area and viewing angle. Options include woven mesh with 30 to 50% open area or perforated panels with a pattern designed for 40%. We calculate the options with the wind loads and fixing details.

Is metal mesh suitable for ceilings and public interiors?

Bare metal mesh is non-combustible (Euroclass A1). Coatings affect the fire classification and need to be assessed separately. The powder coatings we use are tested. We consider these requirements when specifying mesh for public interiors.

Can you match a RAL colour or reproduce a pattern or image?

Options include RAL powder coating, anodising aluminium and perforated panels whose hole sizes form an image. Send the reference so we can advise on a woven, perforated or expanded carrier.

Do you provide samples and specification texts for tenders?

We supply physical material samples on request, together with specification texts and detail drawings for tender documents.

Start with the material in hand.

Request material samples or send a sketch or reference image. We can then propose a material, pattern and construction detail.
